The Middlesex County Golf Partnership

Gets off to a flying start

The Middlesex County golf Partnership (MCGP) was formally launched on Tuesday 23rd September 2008 at the Northwick Park Golf complex. 12 of the 36 County clubs were represented with over 20 people attending. These included General Managers, Junior Organisers, Professionals and Club Captains.

The whole show lasted for 2 hours where the details of the Middlesex golf Development Plan were unveiled. The whole plan including all the set objectives can be seen on this web site and is well worth a read. The Plan is sectionalised and each section can be separately selected from the Contents page.

With one of the main themes of the Plan being the introduction of the game to young children we were extremely fortunate in having Les Ferdinand, the many times capped England footballer, on hand to show these lucky children how the game should be played. Using the Golf Foundation Tri-golf equipment Les and the children had a thoroughly good time and showed just how much fun children can have and at the same time learning the basic skills.
