MCGP Development Plan

The plan will cover a three-year period 2008 - 2011.

England GolfThe intention is to be modestly ambitious - but achievable - in the first year, and lay down some firm foundations for further initiatives in years 2 and 3. The primary aim of the development plan, in line with the Whole Sport Plan for Golf, will be to introduce more people to the game of golf and to increase the number of affiliated members in Middlesex clubs by 3% by 2011.

 

GOLFMARK 

 

The EGU / EWGA / PGA Whole Sport Plan consists of 3 elements: -

'Start', 'Stay' and 'Succeed'.

The MCGP plan is to concentrate on the 'Start and 'Stay' elements.

 

The objectives of the partnership encompasses the following:  

 

·                To promote the game of golf and increase peoples awareness.

·                To introduce more people to golf regardless of age, gender or background.

·                To provide opportunities for people to sustain their involvement and regularly participate in golf.

·                To educate people on the rules and etiquette of the game.

·                To make it easier for people to join a golf club by improving accessibility and affordability.          

·                To undertake the training and support of volunteers.

·                To establish a repository of standards and good practice.

·                To support the development of golfing talent by working with the appropriate bodies.
