North Middlesex; the first Middlesex Golf Club to qualify for GolfMark

North Middlesex was formally awarded GolfMark club status on Thursday 28th May 2009 by Les Ferdinand (former England and Tottenham Hotspur footballer). Les is Middlesex County’s Ambassador for golf and said that “He hoped many more golf clubs in Middlesex would follow the lead set by North Middlesex as it was so important for young people to be encouraged to take up a sport to stay fit and healthy”.

Peter Marsh was presented with the GolfMark certificate by Les who then officially opened the new practice area with a chipping challenge with the juniors.

The function was attended by a large number of North Middlesex Club members together with representatives from the Middlesex County Golf Partnership, the Middlesex Men’s Union and Ladies Association, reinforcing how important the ClubMark achievement is to the Club, the local community and the County.

ClubMark is an important Club accreditation and all Clubs in Middlesex will shortly be contacted by Winston Foster, the County Development Officer (CDO) to make sure all Clubs are aware of the benefits of this award and what it will mean long term.
